They generally don’t follow the story of the original cartoons. But this game does. The makers (Social Games International) even teamed up with Speed Racer Enterprises, Inc. to gain rights to use original episode clips and imagery in the game (featured in between races). Gamers are challenged by a side-scrolling and brilliantly designed car racing game that tasks them with choosing power-ups for their car before and after races, so that they can avoid obstacles on the course like other cars and enemies, rain, oil slicks, falling rocks, and so much more. Do you have what it takes to dominate on the international Formula One circuit with Speed?

Rarely will any car racing games deliver the complete package like Motorstorm did (2007; PS3). The game was unique because in it you could race using ATVs, rally cars, motorcycles, buggies, trucks…and then some. This easily was a feature that set this game apart from other worthy rivals like Forza or Grand Turismo. It also made the on the track play far more intriguing and unpredictable because every race could be completely different from the race that preceded it, depending upon what vehicle selections were present on the track. One race where a rally car bested a truck, for example, could be changed the next time around on the very same track if the drivers changed up their vehicle selection.
What followed after this unique gaming gem was unfortunately just a random carbon copy reminiscent of Twisted Metal called MotorStorm: Apocalypse. We highly advise that you veer away from that $5 dust bin bargain shopper buzz kill, and do yourself a favor and just pick up a copy of the original if you desire a different flavor of car racing games, as the apocalyptic version is just plain silly and peevish, and to be quite honest underdone and dull. However, if you seek racing tills with a different twist and plenty of options, be sure to wrap your hands around this sweet pleaser.

Easily, the physics engine was WAY ahead of its time for this game. Proof of that can inevitably be found in the HD trailer that was released for this game (below). As you can see, the landscape is rendered magnificently, the graphics and frame rates are of very high quality, and the game looks pretty enticing and original for car racing games that generally center upon the same monotonous and often redundant plot and narrative: racing cars around tracks.
Want more car racing games that don’t suck…or blow? We sure do as well. That’s why we’ve always got a keen ear pressed to the video gaming ground to hear when the train of awesomeness thunders forwards carrying with it a carload of video gaming goodies for the masses. If you want to know where to spend your bucks to get good car racing games, these three are certain to appease.
Ultimate Stock Car Racing Experience with NASCAR The Game 2012: The most complete, visually stunning and interactive NASCAR game to-date. It’s also one of the most realistic of car racing games you will ever wrap your hands around. Get behind the wheel as your favorite pro driver and see if you have the clout to manage tandem pack racing with all of the marbles on the line.
Kick Dirt & Grind Gears in MX vs. ATV Unleashed: Dream with us all the way back to the heyday of the original Xbox console, as this game is still hotter than the forge at a steel mill. Even by today’s scrutinizing standards, this game passes the quality graphics test with ease. Merge that with superfluous controls, plenty of tracks and vehicles, and you have one of more gamer-worthy car racing games ever to be designed.
Rally Racing Unleashed in RalliSport Challenge 3: Any good list of quality car racing games should never be void of a decent rally car racer. The third and most brilliant and innovative edition to this racing trilogy quelled all doubts. There is indeed a racer that’s as good as or better than Collin McRae. If you seek rally racing like you’ve never experienced before, this one is a keeper.
